Perspective I Bring
15+ years of experience | PhD in Public Health & Health Communication | Registered Dietitian Nutritionist
Organizations with the strongest outcomes are not simply offering better programs. They are creating the conditions that allow those programs to succeed, through engaged leadership, intentional communication, supportive environments, and a culture that makes health part of how the organization operates.
I believe better population health decisions are rarely made from data alone. They are stronger when evidence is considered alongside implementation experience, stakeholder insights, and meaningful evaluation, bringing together what the research shows, what happens in practice, what people experience, and what the data tells us.
That is the lens I bring to population health work: connecting these perspectives to help organizations understand what is happening, why it is happening, and what to do next. Whether strengthening a culture of health, evaluating an initiative, operationalizing a Food is Medicine strategy, or translating research into action, the goal is better population health decisions.
A framework for integrating the perspectives that lead to better population health decisions.
Questions I Help Organizations Answer
PopHealth Advisory provides specialized expertise that complements existing population health strategies by helping organizations understand why initiatives succeed, where barriers exist, and what to do next.
Expertise
Culture of Health
Great programs are most effective when they're supported by the right culture. I help organizations understand how leadership, communication, policies, and the employee experience influence participation and long-term success, and identify opportunities to strengthen the environment in which health initiatives operate.
Common engagements: Culture of Health assessments, leadership interviews, organizational assessments, strategic recommendations.
Evaluation & Stakeholder Insights
Numbers tell you what happened. People help explain why. Using interviews, focus groups, observations, surveys, and mixed-methods evaluation, I help organizations understand participant experiences, implementation challenges, and opportunities that quantitative data alone can't reveal.
Common engagements: Independent program evaluations, employee or stakeholder interviews, focus groups, qualitative research, evaluation reports, executive presentations.
Research Translation & Thought Leadership
Strong work deserves strong communication. I help organizations translate research, evaluation findings, and organizational experience into credible resources that inform decision-makers and demonstrate impact.
Common engagements: White papers, executive briefs, research summaries, impact reports, conference presentations, strategic communications.
Food is Medicine
Moving from idea to implementation requires more than clinical evidence. I help organizations operationalize Food is Medicine initiatives by supporting strategy development, stakeholder alignment, implementation planning, and evaluation.
Common engagements: Program design, implementation roadmaps, stakeholder engagement, evaluation planning.
Selected Work
My perspective is grounded in leading, evaluating, and studying population health initiatives across employer, healthcare, and community settings. I have 15+ years of experience leading population health and wellbeing initiatives, including strategies serving 1,200-10,000+ lives and managing budgets exceeding $1M.
Culture of Health
Researching what differentiates organizations that create lasting cultures of health.
I studied 19 organizations recognized for creating exceptional cultures of health to identify the leadership, communication, and organizational practices that support healthier populations. My work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, presented at conferences, and presented in white papers and briefs.
Evaluation & Stakeholder Insights
Helping organizations understand what quantitative data alone can't explain.
I designed mixed-methods evaluations using interviews, focus groups, and stakeholder engagement to understand participant experiences, implementation, and impact, contributing to program realignment with mission and increases in program funding.
Population Health Strategy
Designing integrated models of care that improve population health.
I developed multidisciplinary approaches supporting sustainable health outcomes. My work has contributed to a 50% increase in engagement for high-risk members, and a reduction in annual healthcare cost trend from 8% to 3%.
Food is Medicine
Moving Food is Medicine from concept to implementation.
I developed and operationalized a $1.5 M Food iedicine initiative by bringing together healthcare, nutrition, public health, and community partners, leading to improved health metrics and reduced healthcare spend.
